The invention relates to a method for producing orthoesters of general formula I, in which the radicals are defined as follows: R1: hydrogen, C1 to C20 alkyl, C2 to C20 alkenyl, C2 to C20 alkinyl, C3 to C12 cycloalkyl, C4 to C20 cycloalkyl alkyl or C4 to C10 aryl, R2 and R3: C1 to C20 alkyl, C3 to C12 cycloalkyl and C4 to C20 cycloalkyl alkyl, or R2 and R3 together form C2 to C10 alkylene, R4: C1 to C4 alkyl. According to the invention, a compound of general formula II is electrochemically oxidised in the presence of C1 to C4 alcohols (alcohols A). In said formula, the radicals R1 to R3 have the same definition as in the general formula I and R5 represents a saturated or unsaturated 5 or 6 membered heterocycloalkyl radical or heterocycloaryl radical comprising up to 2 heteroatoms, selected from the group containing N, O and S, said radical being bonded to the residual part of the molecule by a carbon atom, which is in a vicinal position in relation to a heteroatom.

La présente invention concerne un procédé pour produire des orthoesters de formule générale (I), dans laquelle les radicaux ont les significations suivantes : R?1¿: hydrogène, alkyle C¿1? à C¿20?, alcényle C¿2? à C¿20?, alcinyle C¿2? à C¿20?, cycloalkyle C¿3? à C¿12?, cycloalkyle-alkyle C¿4? à C¿20? ou aryle C¿4? à C¿10?, R?2¿, R?3¿: alkyle C¿1? à C¿20?, cycloalkyle C¿3? à C¿12? et cycloalkyle-alkyle C¿4? à C¿20? ou R?2¿ et R?3¿ forment conjointement alkylène C¿2? à C¿10?, R?4¿: alkyle C¿1? à C¿4?. Ce procédé consiste à oxyder par voie électrochimique, en présence d'alcools C¿1? à C¿4? (alcools A), un composé de formule générale (II), dans laquelle les radicaux R?1¿ à R?3¿ ont la même signification que dans la formule générale (I) et R?5¿ représente un radical hétérocycloalkyle ou un radical hétérocycloaryle saturé ou insaturé à 5 ou 6 éléments, présentant jusqu'à deux hétéroatomes, choisis dans le groupe formé par N, O et S, ce radical étant lié à la partie résiduelle de la molécule par un atome de carbone qui se trouve au voisinage d'un hétéroatome.
