The invention relates to a method for producing propene oxide in which a mixture comprised of propene and oxygen or a gas containing oxygen is reacted optionally in the presence of a catalyst in a reactor at a temperature ranging from 150 to 500 ~C, whereby the inner chamber of the reactor is completely or partially lined with inert materials. At least one of the materials of the following group is used as an inert material: one or more precious metals of the VIII subgroup of the periodic table, especially gold, titanium, tantalum, glass, enamel, quartz, ceramic or Teflon. The selectivity to propene oxide is > 60 %.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour la production d'oxyde de propène, dans lequel on fait réagir un mélange de propène et d'oxygène ou bien d'un gaz contenant de l'oxygène, éventuellement en présence d'un catalyseur, dans un réacteur à une température allant de 150 à 500 ·C, la chambre intérieure du réacteur étant revêtue totalement ou partiellement de matériaux inertes. On utilise comme matériau inerte au moins l'un des matériaux du groupe suivant: un ou plusieurs métaux précieux du 8ème sous-groupe de la classification périodique des éléments, notamment de l'or, du titane, du tantale, du verre, de l'émail, du quartz, de la céramique ou du téflon. La sélectivité vis-à-vis de l'oxyde de propène est > 60 %.
