The present invention provides a method for producing a desired protein. The method comprises growing, by a fed-batch culture, a host cell which expresses the desired protein, wherein the specific growth rate of the host cell is changed from the initial rate to a predetermined one by continuously changing the rate of addition of a substrate which controls the growth of the host cell. According to the mode of change of the rate of substrate addition to the medium of the present invention, optimal patterns of specific growth rate µ and specific production rate .rho. can be realized to optimize the fed-batch culture system. As a consequence of the realization, it is possible to perform a high density culture of the host cell by fed-batch culture, and the desired protein can be produced efficiently in a short time.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de production de protéines consistant à cultiver, grâce à un apport de nutriment, des cellules hôtes capables d'exprimer une protéine cible. La variation continue de la cadence d'apport au milieu de culture du substrat régissant la croissance des cellules permet de faire passer la cadence de croissance spécifique des cellules hôtes d'une valeur initiale à une valeur déterminée. Selon la présente invention, le mode de variation de la cadence d'addition permet d'obtenir, d'une part des courbes optimales pour des taux de croissance spécifiques, et d'autre part des taux de production spécifiques, optimisant ainsi le système de culture par apport. Il est ainsi possible de réaliser une culture haute densité des cellules hôtes en mettant en oeuvre un procédé de culture par apport et de produire avec efficacité les protéines voulues dans un bref délai.
