Abstract of the Disclosure: METHOD FOR PRODUCING SODIUM PERSULFATE In the process for making sodium persulfate by the reaction of ammonium persulfate and a base such as sodium hydroxide, sodium sulfate is formed as a by-product by the reduction of the persulfate by ammonia. By modifying the composition of the mother liquor, it is possible to sepa- rately crystallize pure sodium sulfate decahydrate from the mother liquor and thus maintain a sufficiently low sulfate concentration so that none crystallizes with the sodium persulfate product.
