Le procédé consiste en l'agglomération de particules fines de polymère superabsorbant réalisée par introduction d'une solution aqueuse de monomère dans une bouillie de polymère aqueux dispersé au sein d'un liquide hydrocarboné,cette introduction étant opérée directement à la température et dans des conditions de polymérisation du monomère. On obtient ainsi avec un très bon rendement un produit superabsorbant sous forme d'agrégats de particules dont le passant à 100 micromètres est inférieur à 1 %.
