A process for the production of carbon nanostructures by an oxidation-reduction method is described. The growth of carbon nanorods, nanotubes, and nanoclusters on planar and non planar substrates, and free standing is demonstrated. In one embodiment a reactive gas is generated in situ and reacted with a carbide while the byproducts are removed, thereby adjusting the equilibrium to favor the formation of the carbon nanostructured product.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour la production de nanostructures de carbone par un procédé d'oxydation-réduction. La croissance de nano-tiges, nano-tubes et nano-agrégats sur des substrats planaires et non planaires et sous forme libre. Dans un mode de réalisation, un gaz réactif est généré in situ et réagit avec un carbure, les sous-produits étant éliminés, en ajustant ainsi l'équilibre pour favoriser la formation du produit nanostructuré de carbone.
