In producing a porous cross-linked polymer by forming a water-in-oil type high internal phase emulsion and subsequently polymerizing the emulsion, a method for the production of a porous cross-linked polymer material which comprises a step of polymerizing a water-in-oil type high internal phase emulsion obtained in the presence of a polyglycerine fatty acid ester. This invention permits an HIPE to be polymerized at a high temperature for the purpose of stabilizing the HIPE and consequently warrants quick production of a porous cross-linked polymer material possessed of an excellent water absorbing property.

L'invention concerne la production d'un polymère réticulé poreux par formation d'une émulsion à phase interne élevée du type eau dans l'huile, puis par polymérisation de cette émulsion. Un procédé de production d'une matière à base d'un polymère réticulé poreux consiste à polymériser une émulsion à phase interne élevée (HIPE) du type eau dans l'huile obtenue en présence d'un ester d'acide gras de polyglycérine. Cette invention permet de polymériser une émulsion HIPE à une température élevée en vue de stabiliser cette émulsion HIPE. Par conséquent, elle permet une production rapide d'une matière polymérique poreuse présentant d'excellentes propriétés d'absorption d'eau.
