A method for protecting surfaces from corrosive materials using a composition consisting of a polystyrene known as a high-impact polystyrene dissolved in a suitable solvent, preferably styrene, with a mixture of 1-18 parts by weight, preferably about 4 parts by weight, of a vinyl resin or an unsaturated polyester for every one part by weight of the polystyrene solution, in the presence of accelerators or catalysts.

Procédés de protection de surfaces contre les matières corrosives, caractérisé en ce que l'on utilise une composition constituée d'un polystyrène dit polystyrène-choc, en solution dans un solvant approprié, de préférence dans du styrène, qui est mélangé à raison de 1 à 18 parties, et de préférence approximativement 4 parties, en poids d'une résine vinylique ou un polyester non-saturé pour une partie en poids de la solution de polystyrène, en présence d'accélérateurs ou de catalyseurs.
