The invention relates to a method for reserving services using a distributed database computer system. One embodiment of the invention includes the steps of receiving a request for services on a server-side computer system, creating an entry in a server-side database responsive to the request for services, passing the request for services to from the server- side computer system to a client-side computer system, accessing a client- side database to determine whether the requested services are available, creating an entry in the client-side database responsive to the request for services if the requested services are available, generating a response on the client-side computer system that indicates whether the requested services were available, passing the response to the server-side database, and updating the server-side database according to the response.
