The invention relates to a method for the purification of the deprotected free base of amlodipine, present in the reaction mixture following deprotection of an N-protected amlodipine compound, whereby (i) the reaction mixture, containing the deprotected amlodipine free base, optionally after a preceding filtration, is evaporated to dryness, or the solvent removed from the reaction mixture, (ii) the amlodipine free base, contained in the residue thus obtained, is dissolved in a suitable solvent and (iii) the amlodipine free base is precipitated from said solution.

L'invention concerne un procédé de purification de l'amlodipidine base libre déprotégée qui apparaît dans le mélange réactionnel après déprotection d'un composé d'amlodipidine à protection N. Selon ce procédé : (i) on fait condenser le mélange réactionnel contenant l'amlodipidine base libre déprotégée, éventuellement après une filtration préalable, jusqu'à l'obtention d'un produit sec, ou bien on élimine le solvant du mélange réactionne ; (ii) l'amlodipidine base libre contenue dans le résidu obtenu est placée dans un solvant approprié ; et (iii), à partir de la solution formée, on fait précipiter l'amlodipidine base libre.
