The invention relates to a method for purifying a gas stream containing impurities composed of organic compounds, said gas stream flowing out of a reactor (1) designed for solid phase condensation, preferably for aromatic polyesters and polyamides. According to said method, a gas containing at least oxygen is fed to the gas stream containing the impurities. The combined gas stream is then conveyed, at a high temperature, especially from 280 ~C to 380 ~C, onto a catalyst (8) containing rhodium or a rhodium alloy on an inert porous support. It was found advantageous that the amount of oxygen used be hypo stoichiometric, in relation to the organic impurities, and/or that the ratio of oxygen to impurities be controlled by means of a lambda probe (). Such a lambda probe () is used in a facility according to the invention.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de purifier un courant gazeux, comportant des impuretés constituées de composés organiques, qui quitte un réacteur (1) destiné à la condensation en phase solide, de préférence pour des polyesters et des polyamides aromatiques. Selon ledit procédé, un gaz contenant au moins de l'oxygène est amené au courant gazeux contenant les impuretés. Le courant gazeux commun est ensuite conduit, à une température élevée, en particulier pouvant aller de 280 ·C à 380 ·C, sur un catalyseur (8) contenant du rhodium ou un alliage de rhodium se trouvant sur un support poreux inerte. Il a été déterminé qu'il est avantageux que la quantité d'oxygène utilisée soit, par rapport aux impuretés organiques, hypostochiométriques et/ou que le rapport de l'oxygène aux impuretés soit surveillé au moyen d'au moins une sonde lambda (?). Une telle sonde lambda (?) est utilisée dans une installation selon l'invention.
