ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method is disclosed for purifying a liposomic suspen- sion from a non-entrapped free drug by contacting same with an ion exchange resin either in the activated or the non-activated form. The resin may be of the anioinic type or the cationic type, and either strong or weak. The liposomic suspension, thus purified, may thereafter be lyophilized for the purpose of stabilizing same. The purified liposomic suspension and the stabilized purified liposomic suspension are also part of the invention. An adsorbent resin may also be used.
