The invention concerns a method for purifying the dimeric cyclic ester of lactic (or glycolic) acid starting from a raw lactide (or glycolide) comprising impurities, the method consisting in: extractive and controlled crystallization of the raw lactide, in aqueous medium, controlling the geometry of the formed crystals and carrying out a separation of phases into lactide and impurities; separation of the resulting suspension of crystals, into a phase poor in lactide and loaded with impurities, and a wet cake rich in lactide crystals; drying the resulting wet cake; and recrystallization in melted medium of the resulting dried impure lactide and recuperating the purified lactide.
Procédé de purification de l'ester cyclique dimérique d'acide lactique (ou glycolique) au départ d'un brut de lactide (ou de glycolide) comportant des impuretés, le procédé comprenant: une cristallisation extractive et contrôlée du brut de lactide, en milieu aqueux, en contrôlant la géométrie des cristaux formés et en provoquant une ségrégation de phases entre le lactide et les impuretés; une séparation de la suspension de cristaux ainsi obtenue, en une phase liquide pauvre en lactide et chargée des impuretés, et en un gâteau humide riche en cristaux de lactide; un séchage du gâteau humide ainsi obtenu; et une recristallisation en milieu fondu du lactide impur séché ainsi obtenu et une récupération du lactide purifié.
