The present invention relates to a method for preparing erythropoietin, wherein culture supernatant of erythropoietin-producing eukaryotic cells containing erythropoietin are subjected to the following steps: a) Removing the cell components; and b) treating the product from a) to the following chromatography steps in the sequence indicated i) reversed phase chromatography; ii) anion exchange chromatography; iii) hydroxyapatite chromatography.

L'invention concerne un procédé de purification d'érythropoïétine, caractérisé en ce qu'une fraction de culture renfermant de l'érythropoïétine provenant de cellules eucaryotes produisant de l'érythropoïétine est soumise aux étapes suivantes : a) élimination des constituants cellulaires; et b) traitement du produit provenant de a) par les étapes chromatographiques ci-après, dans l'ordre donné : i) chromatographie en phase inversée; ii) chromatographie par échange d'anions; iii) chromatographie sur hydroxyapatite.
