ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Thermoplastic film materials may be sealed together by application of a radio frequency field applied through an electrode coated with a ceramic and a release material. The preferred thermoplastic materials have a low dielectric dissipation factor, and such materials include polyethylene. The electrode has good conductive characteristics and release properties. Through the use of this invention effective RF sealing is produced between thermoplastic materials having a low dielectric dissipation factor. 31289
