Method for detecting and identifying unknown bioagents, including bacteria, viruses and the like, by a combination of nucleic acid amplification and molecular weight determination using primers which hybridize to conserved sequence regions of nucleic acids derived from a bioagent and which bracket variable sequence regions that uniquely identify the bioagent. The result is a "base composition signature" (BCS) which is then matched against a database of base composition signatures, by which the bioagent is identified.
L'invention concerne un procédé de détection et d'identification de bioagents inconnus, notamment des bactéries, des virus et analogue, au moyen d'une combinaison d'amplification d'acide nucléique et de détermination de poids moléculaire utilisant des amorces qui entraînent une hybridation sur des régions de séquence conservées d'acides nucléiques dérivés d'un bioagent et qui encadrent des régions de séquence variable identifiant uniquement le bioagent. Il en résulte une <= signature de composition de base >= (BCS) qui est ensuite mise en correspondance avec une base de données de signatures de composition de base, au moyen de laquelle le bioagent est identifié.
