A method for recalibrating a storage battery power control processor, wherein a recalibration process for estimating the amount of electric power in the battery is started after a predetermined interval, the battery is completely recharged, the end of the complete battery recharging process is sensed, the battery is partially discharged, the amount of electricity removed during the recharging process is measured, the battery is deactivated for a predetermined time, the battery is completely discharged with a low intensity while measuring the amount of electricity thereby removed from the battery, and the two measured amounts of electricity are added together to give a value of the maximum battery capacity upon recalibration.
