A method for recognizing a spoken word in the presence of interfering speech beings by echo-cancelling the voice prompt and any detected speech signal to produce a residual signal (60). Portions of the residual signal that have been most recently echo-cancelled are then continuously stored in a buffer (62). The energy in the residual signal is also continuously processed to determine onset of the spoken word (64). Upon detection of word onset, the portion of the residual signal then currently in the buffer is retained, the voice prompt is terminated, and the recognizer begins realtime recognition of subsequent portions of the residual signal (66). Upon detection of word completion (68), the method retrieves the portion of the residual that was retained in the buffer upon detection of word onset (70) and performs recognition of that portion (72).
Procédé de reconnaissance de mots parlés en présence de paroles parasites telles qu'un message guide-opérateur engendré par le système. Le procédé consiste, dans un premier temps, à annuler les échos du message guide-opérateur et d'un éventuel signal vocal détecté, afin de produire un signal résiduel, puis à stocker en continu dans un tampon les parties du signal résiduel qui ont le plus récemment subi l'annulation d'échos, à traiter en continu l'énergie du signal résiduel afin de déterminer le début des mots parlés, à retenir, lors de la détection du début des mots parlés, la partie du signal résiduel présente à ce moment dans le tampon, à interrompre le message guide-opérateur, et à lancer, à l'aide d'un appareil de reconnaissance, la reconnaissance en temps réel des parties ultérieures du signal résiduel. Dès la détection de l'achèvement des mots parlés, le procédé consiste à extraire la partie du signal résiduel qui a été retenue dans le tampon lors de la détection du début des mots parlés, à effectuer la reconnaissance de cette partie du signal, et enfin à reconstituer les parties reconnues des mots afin de déterminer les mots parlés.
