The invention concerns a method and a device for recovering clay derived from a contaminated raw material containing clay. The method includes eliminating (1) from the contaminated material the contaminating materials not bound to the clay, mixing (3) the contaminated raw material, freed of unbound contaminating materials, with water, separating (4) from said mixture, clay suspended in water and residues of raw material depleted in clay and separately recovering clay and water.

Procédé et dispositif de récupération d'argile provenant d'une matière première contaminée contenant de l'argile. Le procédé comprend une élimination (1) à partir de la matière contaminée des matériaux contaminants non liés à l'argile, un malaxage (3) de la matière première contaminée, débarrassée des matériaux contaminants nonl liés, avec de l'eau, une séparation (4) à partir de ce mélange d'une suspension d'argile dans l'eau, d'une part, et des résidus de matière première appauvris en argile, d'autre part, une récupération séparée de l'argile et de l'eau.
