14 METHOD FOR RECOVERING GOLD AND SILVER FROM ORE STARTING MATERIALS Abstract A method for recovering gold and silver from an ore starting materials involves an absorptive leaching of the starting material in pulp in a sequence of treatment devices, with subsequent multiple-stage desorption of gold, silver and impurities from a saturated synthetic sorbent (resin) containing ion-exchange groups. Cyanides are charged into treatment devices individually to maintain in the treatment devices identical concentration required for a given starting material. Desorption is carried out to isolate a fraction rich in gold and silver for making end products. Desorption procedures allow gold, silver and impurities to be individually desorbed. Cyanidation is carried out before the absorptive leaching. In case natural sorbents are available in a starting material, a sorbent is added to pulp before adding cyanides to the pulp.
