METHOD FOR RECOVERY OF ALKYLALUMINUM HALIDES Abstract of the Invention Dialkylaluminum halide is produced as a co-product in the reaction of trialkylaluminum with zinc chloride or metallic zinc and an alkyl halide, to produce a dialkylzinc. The process of this invention allows for the recovery of the dialkylaluminum halide free from zinc containing contaminants by contacting said dialkylaluminum halide with a dialkyl aluminum hydride followed by distillation.
