Abstract of the Disclosure Processes are disclosed in which oil-soluble organometallic catalysts are used to hydrotreat resid feedstocks. Mixing energy in excess of 2.0 E-6 HP/lbm is applied to the reaction mixture during hydrotreating to minimize the deposition of coke on reactor system surfaces.
