The emission from high pressure common rail fuel system compressor ignition engines is reduced by using fuel in said engine a diesel fuel characterized as having a sulfur content of about 0.05 wt% or less, a density of about 0.83 or less and a viscosity of about 3 cSt or less at 40 ~C.

L'invention concerne la réduction des émissions de moteurs à injection pneumatique à système d'alimentation à galerie commune haute pression grâce à l'utilisation dans lesdits moteurs d'un combustible diesel se caractérisant par un contenu en soufre d'environ 0,05 % en poids ou moins, une densité d'environ 0,83 ou moins et une viscosité d'environ 3 cSt ou moins à 40 ·C.
