The present invention relates to a method, whereby the non-ferrous metal content of the slag generated in the production of non-ferrous metals such as copper or nickel in a suspension smelting furnace is reduced by charging metallurgical coke, with a size ranging from 1 - 25mm, into the furnace. Baffles can be positioned from the roof of the furnace downwards, by means of which small particles containing copper and nickel are prevented from drifting to the back of the furnace and being tapped with the slag. The baffles force the small particles to settle in the reduction zone of the furnace.
La présente invention concerne un procédé dans lequel on réduit la teneur des scories en métal non ferreux formé lors de la production de métaux non ferreux, tels que le cuivre ou le nickel, dans un four de fusion à suspension en chargeant du coke métallurgique, d'un calibre compris entre 1 et 25 mm, dans le four. En outre, on peut placer des déflecteurs depuis le toit du four vers le bas, pour empêcher les petites particules contenant du cuivre ou du nickel de tomber derrière le four et de se tasser avec les scories. Les déflecteurs forcent ainsi les petites particules à rester dans la zone de réduction du four.
