Odorant depletion is reduced by passivating the internal surface of LP-gas transportation and storage vessels by the addition of passivating agents comprising mixtures of corrosion inhibitors such as phosphate esters, fatty amines, poly amides, imidazolines, poly imidazolines quaternary amines, poly quats, dimer acids, trimer acids, polymeric acids, ethoxylated fatty amines, ethoxylated polyamides, ethoxylated alcohols and mixtures thereof in one or more solvents. In a preferred embodiment, the passivating agents contain one or more phosphate esters defined by the equation: [R-X-[CmH2mO)n]k-PO(OH)(3-k) where; R is an alkyl group containing 4 to 18 carbon atoms or an alkylaryl group comprising an aryl group selected from the group consisting of phenol, diphenol, and mixtures thereof, and an alkyl group containing 4 to 18 carbon atoms; X is selected from the group consisting of a carboxyl group (-COO-), oxygen (-O-), a secondary amine group (-NH-) and mixtures thereof; m is an integer having a value from about 2 to about 4; n is an integer having a value from about 4 to about 20; and k is an integer having a value from 1 to 2 and one or more fatty amines, poly amides, imidazolines, poly imidazolines, quaternary amines, poly quats, dimer acids, trimer acids, polymeric acids, ethoxylated fatty amines, ethoxylated polyamides, ethoxylated alcohols or mixtures thereof and one or more solvents.

La diminution d'odeur est réduite par passivation de la surface interne des contenants de transport ou de stockage de GPL, grâce à l'addition d'agents de passivation, renfermant des mélanges anti-corrosion, comme des esters phosphates, des amines grasses, des polyamides, des imidazolines, des polyimidazolines, des amines quaternaires, des polyquaternaires, des acides dimères, des acides trimères, des acides polymères, des amines grasses éthoxylées, des polyamides éthoxylés, des alcools éthoxylés, et leurs mélanges, dans un ou plusieurs solvants. On privilégie les agents de passivation renfermant un ou plusieurs esters phosphates, définis par l'équation R-X- CmH2mO)n k-PO(OH)(3-k), où R est un groupe alkyle renfermant 4 à 18 atomes de carbone ou un groupe alkylaryle contenant un groupe aryle, phénol, diphénol ou leurs mélanges, et un groupe alkyle renfermant 4 à 18 atomes de carbone; X est choisi parmi les groupes carboxyle (-COO-), oxygène (-O-), amine secondaire (-NH-) et leurs mélanges; m est un entier de 2 à 4 environ; n est un entier de 4 à 20 environ; enfin, k est un entier de 1 ou 2; et un ou plusieurs polyamides, amines grasses, imidazolines, poly imidazolines, amines quaternaires, polyquaternaires, acides dimères, acides trimères, acides polymères, amines grasses éthoxylées, polyamides éthoxylés, alcools éthoxylés, ou leurs mélanges, dans un ou plusieurs solvants.
