METHOD FOR REDUCING THE MONOMER CONTENT IN ACRYLONITRILE CONTAINING POLYMERS ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION The monomer content in acrylonitrile containing polymers, as for examples bottles formed from acrylonitrile/styrene copolymer, is substantially reduced by applying ionizing radiation in low dosage levels e.g. 0.05-2.0 megarad to the completely or partially formed article, the pellets from which the articles are molded or the ground resin from which the pellets are formed, or to polymer in solution or suspension.
