The invention concerns a method for regenerating a device filtering exhaust gases produced by a diesel engine, said method being of the type wherein particles, retained on a filtering means (22) of the filtering device, are burnt by the action of a combustion catalyst system. Said method consists essentially in retaining the hot exhaust gases around the filtering means (22) so as to feed to the particles, at least part of the heat energy required for their combustion and in burning said particles to regenerate the filtering device. The invention also concerns a device for implementing the method, comprising a means for producing a combustion catalyst (20), a filtering means (22) of exhaust gases and a diesel oil injecting means, the means for producing a combustion catalyst and filtering means being contained in a reaction chamber (18).
La présente invention concerne un procédé de régénération d'un dispositif de filtration des gaz d'échappement produits par un moteur diesel, ce procédé étant du type de ceux dans lesquels des particules, retenues sur un moyen de filtration (22) du dispositif de filtration, sont brûlées grâce à l'action d'un catalyseur de combustion. Ce procédé consiste essentiellement à retenir les gaz d'échappement chauds autour du moyen de filtration (22) afin de fournir aux particules, au moins une partie de l'énergie calorifique nécessaire à leur combustion et à brûler lesdites particules de façon à régénérer le dispositif de filtration. L'invention concerne également un dispositif de mise en oeuvre du procédé, comportant un moyen de production de catalyseur de combustion (20), un moyen de filtration (22) des gaz d'échappement et un moyen d'injection de gazole, les moyens de production de catalyseur de combustion et de filtration étant contenus dans une enceinte réactionnelle (18).
