The present invention relates to a method for reinforcing an article comprising attaching to at least one surface of said article a tape, film or yarn of a drawn thermoplastic polymer. The present invention further relates to an article comprising a solid thermosetting or thermoplastic material. The thermoplastic material being of essentially the same composition as said tape, film or yarn, which method optionally further comprises recycling the reinforced article. The tape, film or yarn is attached to said article by means of a heat treatment and/or by applying pressure and moreover, a layer of foam can also be applied upon at least part of the shaped material and before applying the covering layer at least part of the foam.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour renforcer un objet, ce procédé consistant à fixer sur au moins une surface de l'objet une bande, un film ou un fil polymère thermoplastique étiré. La présente invention porte également sur un objet fait de matériau solide thermodurcissable ou thermoplastique, la composition de ce matériau thermoplastique étant sensiblement la même que celle de la bande, du film ou du fil susmentionnés. Le procédé de l'invention comprend éventuellement le recyclage dudit objet renforcé. La bande, le film ou le fil est fixé à l'objet par traitement thermique et/ou par application d'une pression, une couche de mousse pouvant être posée sur au moins une partie du matériau usiné avant l'application d'une couche de couverture sur au moins une partie de la mousse.
