PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION : L'invention concerne un procédé de désiliciation d'alliages de manganèse, à l'état liquide. Selon ce procédé, on oxyde le silicium en SiO2 en injectant dans l'alliage liquide du dioxyde de carbone, dont l'effet peut être complété par un gaz additionnel neutre ou oxydant. L'addition de chaux ou de dolomie favorise la scorification de la silice. La teneur en silicium peut ainsi être abaissée au moins jesqu'à 0,1 %. Ce procédé est notamment applicable à l'obtention de ferromanganèse à bas carbone et bas silicium.
