CR21724 METHOD FOR REMOVING A WEAK ACID FROM AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method for removing a weak acid from an aqueous solution containing said acid is disclosed. The method comprises contacting said aqueous solution with an anion exchanger containing both strongly basic and weakly basic groups, said exchanger having a matrix comprising a copolymer of styrene and not more than about 20%, by weight, of a cross-linking agent, from about 3% to about 90% of the total basic groups being strongly basic groups of the quarternary ammonium type having the structure -CH2M RlR2R3, wherein Rl, R2, and R3 are independently selected from the group consisting of -CH3, -C2H5, and -C2H4OH, and the balance of the basic groups beinq weakly basic groups of the tertiary amine type.
