An improved process is provided for the removal of chloramines from gas or liquid media by contacting said media with a catalytically-active active carbonaceous char. The improvement is provided by the use of a carbonaceous char capable of rapidly decomposing hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solutions.

L'invention concerne un procédé amélioré pour éliminer les chloramines de milieux gazeux ou liquides en mettant en contact ces milieux avec un charbon carboné catalytiquement actif. L'amélioration est obtenue grâce à l'utilisation d'un charbon carboné pouvant décomposer rapidement le peroxide d'hydrogène en solutions aqueuses.
