METHOD FOR REMOVING DEPOSITS ON BOILER TUBES Abstract of the Disclosure In a method for removing deposits on substan- tially parallel tubes which are disposed in a row in spaced apart relationship in a boiler, such as steam- and water-conducting tubes in the superheater, convection part or economizer of a soda recovery unit for making paper pulp, use is made of a so-called soot blower. This comprises a nozzle pipe which is inserted in its longitudinal direction in the boiler and moved back and forth along the row of tubes and which at its front end has diametrically opposed nozzles for blowing a deposit removing agent, such as steam or air, during rotation of the nozzle pipe. The reci- procating movement and the movement of rotation of the nozzle pipe are so coordinated that the two dia- metrically opposed nozzles are directed substantially parallel to the tubes every time they pass a tube in the row during the reciprocating movement of the nozzle pipe.
