The invention relates to a method for oxidizing methane, comprising passing a gaseous, methane containing mixture over a catalyst, comprising a carrier with a substrate surface which consists substantially of titanium dioxide with a combination of platinum and palladium thereon, in the presence of molecular oxygen, and to a catalyst suitable thereto.
La présente invention concerne un procédé pour oxyder le méthane. Ledit procédé consiste à faire passer un mélange gazeux qui contient du méthane par-dessus un catalyseur qui comprend un support avec une surface de substrat constituée sensiblement de dioxyde de titane avec une combinaison de platine et de palladium sur celle-ci, en présence d'oxygène moléculaire. La présente invention concerne également un catalyseur approprié pour ledit procédé.
