RD-13709 METHOD FOR REMOVING POLYHALOGENATED HYDROCARBONS FROM NONPOLAR ORGANIC SOLVENT SOLUTIONS Abstract of the Disclosure A method is provided for reducing the level of polychlorinated aromatic hydrocarbons, "PCB's", while dissolved in an organic solvent, for example, transformer oil. Removal of the polychlorinated aromatic hydrocar- bon, can be accomplished by treating the contaminated solution with a mixture of monocapped polyalkyleneglycol alkyl ether and an alkali metal hydroxide.
