The invention concerns a method for use in a television digital decoder for selecting and executing an executable software image, the method comprising starting a self-executable bootstrapping software to load an image. Said method is characterised in that it consists in constituting a reference table referring to one among (n-m) non erasure-protected images stored in a memory zone, then in accordance with a routine performed at each reset of the decoder, v1) verifying whether the reference table is present and integral, p) running through the table in a sequence so as to reach the stored images to which each reference corresponds, v2) verifying whether the image corresponding to the first reference reached is integral, 1) if the image verified at step c) is integral launching execution of said image, e) if the newly verified image is not integral, performing once more steps v2), and possibly 1) for the next reference, until an integral image is found, finally if the table is not integral or if after running through the (n-m) images stored in non-erasure-protected memory zone it is found that none of said images is integral, performing step e) for m images stored in non erasure-protected zones, said m images being run through in a sequence corresponding to their priority order.
Procédé utilisable dans un décodeur numérique de télévision pour sélectionner et exécuter une image d'un logiciel exécutable, le procédé comportant la mise en route d'un logiciel d'amorçage auto-exécutable pour charger une image, procédé caractérisé en ce que on constitue une table de référence renvoyant à une de (n-m) images stockées dans une zone mémoire non protégées en effacement, puis selon une routine effectuée à chaque réinitialisation du décodeur, v1) on vérifie que la table de référence est présente et intègre, p) on parcourt la table selon un ordre de façon à atteindre les images stockées auxquelles chaque référence correspond, v2) on vérifie que l'image correspondant à la première référence atteinte est intègre, 1) si l'image vérifiée à l'étape c) est intègre on lance l'exécution de cette image, e) si l'image qui vient d'être vérifiée n'est pas intègre, on effectue à nouveau les étapes v2), et éventuellement 1) pour la référence suivante, et ce jusqu'à ce qu'une image intègre soit trouvée, enfin si la table n'est pas intègre ou si après parcours des (n-m) images stockées en zone mémoire non protégée en effacement il s'avère qu'aucune de ces images n'est intègre on effectue l'étape e) pour m images stockées dans des zones protégées en effacement, ces m images étant parcourues dans un ordre correspondant à leur ordre de préférence.
