Abstract. A method is disclosed for bending panels which are pro- vided with reinforcing stiffening ribs. The bending is caused by upsetting or elongating the ribs by means of an apparatus which engages the ribs at points which are spaced a predetermined distance from the panel skin. The invention is in particular applicable to the shaping of aircraft fuselage planks.
