A method for stabilizing the moisture content of wood by incorporating oil in the cell structure of dried wood along with wood treated with this method are described herein. The method generally consists in applying a relatively thin coating of oil on a surface of the dry wood piece to be treated and allowing enough time for the oil to be absorbed in the dry wood.
