The invention relates to a method for stiffening a sheet (1) of solid wood and a sheet of wood. The sheet of wood consists of an integral piece of wood or a plurality of wood strips which are joined together and have substantially parallel grains. By means of the method of the invention, the sheet (1) of wood is stiffened to prevent the substantially straight sides (4) of the sheet from bending. The stiffening member (8) does not form any projections and does not cause any disadvantageous crack formation in the sheet of wood, which would damage the protective surface treatment. On account of the stiffening member (8) which is provided completely inside the sheet of wood, the product obtained is easy to handle, and its manufacture can be easily automated.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de raidir une plaque (1) de bois massif, et une plaque de bois. La plaque de bois est composée d'une pièce de bois massif ou de plusieurs lamelles de bois collées entre elles, au fil sensiblement parallèle. La plaque (1) de bois est raidie au moyen du procédé de la présente invention afin d'empêcher les côtés relativement droits (4) de la plaque de se plier. L'élément de raidissage (8) ne forme pas de saillie et n'entraîne pas la formation dans la plaque de bois de fissures indésirables qui pourraient endommager l'enduit protecteur. Etant donne que l'élément de raidissage (8) est entièrement placé à l'intérieur de la plaque de bois, le produit obtenu est facile à manipuler et sa fabrication peut facilement être automatisée.
