Improved methods and solutions for treating water and hydrocarbon producing subterranean formations to reduce the water permeability thereof are provided. The improved aqueous solutions comprise a hydrophilic reactive polymer, a hydrophobic compound capable of reacting with the polymer in situ and a surfactant. The methods basically comprise preparing and introducing into the formation the aqueous solution followed by shutting in the formation in order to permit reaction of the polymer and the hydrophobic compound. The reaction product attaches to adsorption sites on surfaces within the porosity of the formation and reduces the water permeability thereof without substantially reducing the hydrocarbon permeability thereof. Additionally, the current invention provides a pre-reacted hydrophobically modified relative permeability modifier and formation stimulation/re-stimulation methods for using the same.
L'invention concerne des procédés et des solutions améliorées pour le traitement de formations produisant un hydrocarbure et de l'eau en vue de la réduction de leur perméabilité à l'eau. Ces solutions aqueuses améliorées comprennent un polymère réactif hydrophile, un composé hydrophobe pouvant réagir avec le polymère in-situ et un agent tensioactif. Les procédés consistent à la base à préparer et à introduire dans la formation la solution aqueuse, à fermer la formation de manière à permettre la réaction du polymère et du composé hydrophobe. Le produit réactionnel se fixe à des sites d'adsorption sur les surfaces situées dans les zones de porosité de la formation et réduit la perméabilité à l'eau de cette dernière sans réduire sensiblement sa perméabilité à l'hydrocarbure. De plus, l'invention porte sur un modificateur de perméabilité relative à hydrophobie modifiée et ayant subi une pré-réaction ainsi que sur des procédés de stimulation/re-stimulation pour l'utilisation dudit modificateur.
