The invention concerns a method for potentiating and stimulating the natural control system of agriculturally useful plants, using a phytosanitary composition containing one or several oligo beta 1-3 glucans consisting of 3 to 250, preferably, 3 to 50 and more preferably 3 to 30 carbohydrate units, the oligo beta 1-3 glucan concentration characteristics and the use of this composition being selected such that it brings per cultivated hectare an amount of oligo beta 1-3 glucans less than the amount which directly induces the natural control reactions, said amount ranging in practice from 1 to 200 g, preferably 4 to 80 g per hectare in the case of cereals and in particular of wheat.

Utilisation pour la potentialisation et la stimulation des défenses naturelles des plantes agronomiquement utiles, d'une composition phytosanitaire contenant un ou plusieurs oligo .beta. 1-3 glucanes composés de 3 à 250, de préférence de 3 à 50 et plus préférentiellement de 3 à 30 unités saccharidiques, les caractéristiques de concentration en oligo .beta. 1-3 glucanes et de mise en oeuvre de cette composition étant choisies de façon telle qu'elle apporte par hectare de culture une quantité d'oligo .beta. 1-3 glucanes inférieure à celle qui induit directement les réactions de défense naturelle, cette quantité étant dans la pratique de 1 à 200 g, de préférence de 4 à 80 g par hectare dans le cas des céréales et notamment du blé.
