Abstract of the Disclosure A method for increasing the production of fluids from a subterrane- an fluid-bearing formation containing acid-soluble components which comprises injecting into said formation an aqueous acid solution comprising (a) from 0.5 to 28 % by weight of a non-oxidizing mineral acid or from 0.01 to 5 % by weight of carbon dioxide, and (b) from 0,005 to 2 % by weight of at least one sulfonated anti-scale compound of the formula Image (I) wherein A+ is an alkali metal or ammonium ion, and R is an alkaryl group having 6 to 18 carbon atoms in its alkyl moiety, or a saturated or unsaturated alipha- tic hydrocarbon group having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and n is a number from 1 to 10,
