The invention relates to a method for testing substances and mixtures of substances for toxic characteristics, to the use of said method and to corresponding test kits. The method is essentially based on the determination of a fatty acid binding protein from the liver, L-FABP. The use of said method provides an early indication of carcinogenic and tumour-promoting characteristics of the tested substance or mixture of substances.

L'invention concerne un procédé servant à tester des substances et des mélanges de substance à la recherche de propriétés toxiques, son utilisation et des trousses d'analyse correspondantes. Le procédé selon l'invention est essentiellement basé sur la détermination d'une protéine de liaison des acides gras dans le foie, L-FABP (de l'anglais Liver Fatty Acid Binding Protein). L'application de ce procédé fournit notamment des indications précoces sur des propriétés cancérogènes et, avant tout, sur des propriétés favorisant les tumeurs de la substance ou du mélange de substances testé.
