Abstract of the disclosure The invention relates to a method and a device for the adjustment of the dewatering in the wire section of a paper machine. A fibre web is fed on to a forming wire, and the forming wire is passed over the surface of at least one dewatering means. A partial vacuum depen- dent on the difference in the speeds of the wire and said surface is created under the forming wire. Further- more, an additional wire or the like is inserted between the forming wire and the dewatering means. In order that the dewatering could be adjusted according to the kind of the fibre web to be dewatered, the speed of the additional wire or the like is adjusted independently of the speed of the forming wire.
