Method of analysis of a testing software tool (7) implementing a testing instrument (1) that makes use of the programme (8, 13) of the software tool to test test electronic components (2) such that, in the method a recording is made, for each individual operation implemented (14) of the number of times (15) in which this operation is performed by the test instrument and, secondly, a recording is made of the rate of action (17) undergone by the constituent elements of the testing instrument. Thus, a method of this kind leads to preventive maintenance and, as the case may be, to an improvement of the software tool implemented in a testing instrument of this kind.
