The invention relates to a method for the automatic configuration of an IP telephony device and/or data (21')from a data transmission network with packet switching, which enables the device to obtain a lease on a virtual sub-network (1d) while it is physically connected to another virtual sub-network (1c). In this way, for example, another device (11') can share the same physical access port (41) to the network via a switch (50), without the two devices necessarily receiving a lease on the same sub-network.

Un procédé de configuration automatique d~un équipement de téléphonie sur IP et/ou de données (21~) d~un réseau de transmission de données à commutation de paquets permet à l~équipement d~obtenir un bail sur un sous-réseau virtuel (1d) alors qu~il est physiquement raccordé à un autre sous-réseaux virtuel (1c). Ceci permet en particulier à un autre équipement (11~) de partager le même port (41) d~accès physique au réseau via un commutateur (50), sans que les deux équipements reçoivent forcément un bail sur le même sous-réseau.
