A method for continuously manufacturing a plastic foam reinforced by at least one fibrous web comprising continuously conveying a carrier along a production line, supplying on top of the carrier a foam-forming mixture and at least one continuously moving fibrous web, the web having holes penetrable by the mixture, the mixture being supplied above both the web and the carrier or below the web and between the web and the carrier, passing the carrier, mixture and web between two spaced opposed constricting members which lie one above the other and form therebetween a metering gap for distributing the mixture over the carrier and web, and allowing the mixture after passing through the gap to freely expand and penetrate the holes of the web to form a reinforced plastic foam which has an exceptionally flat surface.

La présente invention se rapporte à une méthode pour la fabrication continue de mousse plastique renforcée par au moins une bande fibreuse; la méthode en question fait appel à l'utilisation d'un support en défilement continu dans une chaîne de fabrication, et sur lequel un mélange servant à la production de la mousse plastique est appliqué; au moins une bande fibreuse percée de trous favorisant la pénétration du mélange est déposée par-dessus; le mélange est déposé par-dessus la bande fibreuse et son support, ou par-dessous la bande fibreuse et entre la bande fibreuse et le support; le support, le mélange et la bande fibreuse sont ensuite acheminés entre deux éléments constricteurs qui, placés en opposition et disposés l'un par-dessus l'autre, définissent un espace qui assure le calibrage et la distribution du mélange sur l'ensemble du support; au sortir du calibrage, le mélange entre en expansion et pénètre à l'intérieur du support à travers les trous de la bande fibreuse pour ainsi former une mousse de plastique renforcée présentant une surface exceptionnellement plate.
