A method is provided for detecting a cell proliferation disorder in an individual which is based on the spatial distribution of specific components, such as proteins and other molecules, in a mammalian cell nucleus allowing one to establish whether a cell is in its normal state or has undergone transformation to a tumorogenous state. If transformation has occurred, such spatial distribution allows detection and grading of the tumor. The method comprises: a) determining the spatial distribution of at least one specific component in the cell nucleus of a sample from said individual to be analyzed; b) comparing said spatial distribution with the spatial distribution of the same at least one specific component in a reference sample; and c) characterizing said at least one specific component of said sample to be analyzed based upon comparison with said same at least one component in said reference sample. The method is useful in diagnostics as an efficient method for the (early) detection, and monitoring treatment, of proliferation disorders, in particular carcinomas, especially in humans.

Cette invention a trait à une technique permettant de déceler un trouble prolifératif cellulaire chez un individu, laquelle technique repose sur la répartition spatiale de composants spécifiques, tels que des protéines et d'autres molécules, dans un noyau cellulaire de mammifère. Cette technique permet d'établir si une cellule est normale ou si elle a subi une transformation l'amenant à un état tumérogène. Si la transformation a eu lieu, cette répartition spatiale permet de détecter la tumeur et de la classer. La technique consiste, (a), à déterminer la répartition spatiale d'au moins un composant spécifique dans le noyau cellulaire d'un prélèvement à analyse, (b), à comparer cette répartition spatiale avec celle d'au moins un même composant spécifique dans un prélèvement de référence et, (c), à caractériser ce composant spécifique, un à tout le moins, dudit prélèvement à analyser et ce, en fonction de la comparaison établie avec le composant du prélèvement de référence. Cette technique se révèle des plus utile en matière de diagnostic pour la détection (précoce) ainsi que pour la surveillance de troubles prolifératifs, des carcinomes notamment, particulièrement chez l'homme.
