A method for the identification of genes involved in neurodegenerative processes, detectable by the late onset of a phenotype associated with neurodegeneration, by means of a genetic screen of deregulated genes, which comprises the measurement of sleep-wake cycle activity schemes in different stages of life, young and adult, of individuals of an animal model, such as Drosophila. A mutant fly whose genome comprises a disruption in its enabled gene, with decrease of the enabled gene expression, and exhibiting a late onset neurodegenerative phenotype in adulthood.
Linvention concerne un procédé didentification de gènes impliqués dans des procédés neurodégénératifs, détectables par lapparition tardive dun phénotype associé avec la neurodégénération, au moyen dun criblage génétique des gènes dérégulés, qui comprend la mesure de schémas dactivité du cycle veille-sommeil à différents stades de la vie, jeunes et adultes, dindividus dun modèle animal, tel que Drosophila. Linvention concerne également une mouche mutante dont le génome comprend une perturbation de son gène activé, avec une diminution de lexpression du gène activé, et qui présente une apparition tardive dun phénotype neurodégénératif au stade adulte.
