The invention relates to a method for the in vitro distinction between systemic inflammatory non-infectious conditions and systemic inflammatory infectious conditions. Said method comprises the following steps: a) sample RNA is isolated from a biological sample; b) the sample RNA and/or at least one DNA which represents a gene activity that is specific for distinguishing between SIRS and sepsis and/or a specific gene or gene fragment, is marked with a detectable marker; c) the sample RNA is brought in contact with the DNA in hybridization conditions; d) control RNA is brought in contact with at least one DNA in hybridization conditions, said DNA representing a gene or gene fragment that is specific for distinguishing between SIRS and sepsis; e) the marking signals of the hybridized sample RNA and control RNA are quantitatively recorded; and f) the quantitative data of the marking signals is compared in order to make a statement as to whether genes or gene fragments that are specific for distinguishing between SIRS and sepsis are expressed more prominently or less prominently in the sample than in the control RNA.

L'invention concerne une méthode pour différencier in vitro entre des états non infectieux, inflammatoires, généralisés et des états infectieux, inflammatoires, généralisés selon les étapes suivantes: a) isoler un ARN prélevé d'un échantillon biologique, b) marquer au moyen d'un marqueur détectable l'ARN prélevé et/ou au moins un ADN qui a une activité génique spécifique et/ou est un gène spécifique ou un fragment génique spécifique pour la différenciation entre SIRS et sepsie, c) mettre en contact l'ARN prélevé avec l'ADN dans des conditions d'hybridation, d) mettre en contact l'ARN de contrôle avec au moins un ADN dans des conditions d'hybridation, l'ADN étant un gène spécifique ou un fragment génique spécifique pour la différenciation entre SIRS et sepsie, e) saisir la quantité des signaux de marquage de l'ARN prélevé hybridé et de l'ARN de contrôle, f) comparer les données quantitatives des signaux de marquage pour savoir si des gènes spécifiques ou des fragments géniques spécifiques pour la différenciation entre SIRS et sepsie sont exprimés plus fortement ou plus faiblement dans l'échantillon que dans la substance de contrôle.
