ABSTRACT A method is described for the isolation and purification of Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase (Cu/Zn SOD), in which, in order to obtain a preparation that can be readily further processed, the Cu/Zn SOD, which may be precleaned by an appropriate method as required, is separated from foreign proteins by hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC).
